Convention Recap – Government Affairs Presentation Highlights

Learn more about Stan Kolbe and Denise Murphy McGraw's engaging and informative presentation on Â鶹Èë¿Ú’s advocacy priorities.

At this year’s Â鶹Èë¿Ú Annual Convention, Government Affairs Director Stan Kolbe and Denise Murphy McGraw, Special Assistant for Government and Political Affairs, led an engaging and informative presentation on Â鶹Èë¿Ú’s advocacy priorities and the growing importance of grassroots engagement at all levels of government.

Kolbe provided an update on federal policy issues that directly impact Â鶹Èë¿Ú contractors—including infrastructure investment, workforce development, tax policy, and energy efficiency initiatives. He emphasized how Â鶹Èë¿Ú’s presence in Washington, D.C. ensures contractors’ interests are represented in congressional deliberations and regulatory discussions.

McGraw’s remarks focused on the expanding role of state and local chapters in shaping policy outcomes. She highlighted how Â鶹Èë¿Ú members across the country are strengthening their legislative engagement, building relationships with policymakers, and advancing initiatives tailored to their regions. McGraw underscored the success of chapters that have organized local advocacy programs and encouraged others to use Â鶹Èë¿Ú resources to do the same.

Together, Kolbe and McGraw demonstrated how national and state-level advocacy efforts align to advance contractors’ priorities—and how collaboration across all chapters continues to elevate the industry’s influence nationwide.
We also had a wonderful and well-attended Congressional Insider Club Reception hosted by Carmen Koo, Â鶹Èë¿Ú Legislative Committee chairwoman. The event celebrated the growth and support of our PAC clubs.
