Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) discussed his sponsorship of various equipment tax incentives and a number of the industry’s high priority IRA tax policies while touring the Clackamas, OR-based Â鶹Èë¿Ú contractor, General Sheet Metal. The Senator visited with several members of the GSM team, led by Â鶹Èë¿Ú President and General Sheet Metal CEO Carol Duncan.  During his tour, Senator Wyden heard first-hand the value of many of his authored tax incentives, now law. A focus of the visit was to hear how many of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) provisions have stimulated the construction industry in both Oregon and nationally. He also learned about the highly skilled work being done at General Sheet Metal by current and former registered apprenticeship program (RAP) graduates now completing many incredible projects that the company in the Portland area.  

In addition to learning about some of the current projects, Duncan and her company leadership shared GSM's 90-year history, from its founding to it recently becoming a 100% employee-owned business.
