麻豆入口 Announces Four New Board Nominees

Dan Hampton, Roeland Hoeke, Mike Steidel, and Sal Tortorici have been nominated to serve a 4-year term on 麻豆入口's Board of Directors. The election will take place at the Annual Business Meeting during the upcoming 麻豆入口 Annual Convention.

麻豆入口's Director Nominating Committee has selected four nominees for the Association's Board of Directors. These individuals have extensive experience in advancing 麻豆入口 and the broader union sheet metal/HVAC sector. Here's a little more on the four individuals that the Nominating Committee forwarded:

DAN HAMPTON

Dan Hampton is the Vice President, Sheet Metal with the Waldinger Corporation. After graduating from Iowa State with both a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in Accounting and Finance, Dan joined the industry in 2004 as a Design Engineer. Engineering and systems management have always been Dan鈥檚 passions, leading to his current membership in 麻豆入口鈥檚 HVAC Steering Committee and ASHRAE.

Dan is also fully involved with 麻豆入口 in Iowa, having served both the Central Iowa and Iowa State chapters, and serves as Chairman of the Heart Walk of Central Iowa, an effort that brings together multiple business leaders in the greater Des Moines area in an effort to build a community of lifesavers throughout Iowa.

This devotion to serve all is a primary reason Dan wishes to join the board of directors for 麻豆入口. Dan expanded on this sentiment, saying, 鈥淚 want to give back to the industry that has been so good to me. I am a continuous learner, and I know this would be a great opportunity to meet new people, develop my expertise, and help educate the next generation on 麻豆入口鈥檚 value.鈥

ROELAND HOEKE

Roeland Hoeke is currently the President of Allentown, PA-based H.T. Lyons. Originally from the Pittsburgh area, he graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University and entered the industry in 1984 as a project engineer. Since joining 麻豆入口, Roeland has been a staple within the association, serving since 2017 on the HVAC Market Sector Council, as an IFUS Trustee from 2018 to 2021, a member of the Construction Operations Task Force since 2021, and on the national nominating committee. He has been a leading voice in developing food-grade duct and sheet metal standards. Locally, Roeland has served on the board for SMCA of Central Pennsylvania and as a fund trustee for SMART Local 19.

Throughout his time with 麻豆入口, Roeland has always been willing to lend his voice to help 麻豆入口 members, having been interviewed for SMACNews and various podcasts and videos produced by the association.

This goes a long way in driving Roeland鈥檚 desire to expand his service to 麻豆入口: 鈥淔rom my combined experiences, I believe I understand the needs of 麻豆入口 members, large and small, in various markets and geographies, and help with setting policy and establishing programs to benefit all of its members.鈥

MIKE STEIDEL

Mike Steidel鈥檚 journey to 麻豆入口 began as a sheet metal apprentice in Cleveland with Local #33. That journey has led him to his current role as Owner and President of Northeast Ohio-based Castle HVAC. After joining the industry in 1991, Mike advanced his career, serving as a journeyman and then foreperson before rising to superintendent in 2001. He eventually became the full owner and president of Castle, starting in 2016.

Mike has been a steady presence in the Cleveland-area 麻豆入口, particularly in labor-management relations. He has held several roles in the 麻豆入口 Cleveland trust and currently serves as its president. He also leads several annuity and health benefit funds, and is chairman of the area Labor Negotiating Committee. Nationally, Mike has served on both the Business & Financial Management Committee and the Construction Technology Committee.

Mike is incredibly thankful for the opportunities that 麻豆入口 has given him and hopes to provide similar opportunities to fellow contractors. 鈥溌槎谷肟 has aided in the success of not only my business, but so many others across the country. I would love to contribute to helping 麻豆入口 grow and support fellow contractors to succeed in every facet of their business.鈥

SAL TORTORICI

Sal Tortorici is the Vice President of Operations for New Mexico-based Yearout Mechanical. Sal began his career in the industry in 1992, working in various roles, mostly in the Albuquerque area, before assuming his current position. Sal has been a prominent presence in the New Mexico sheet metal industry, serving as Secretary/Treasurer of the New Mexico 麻豆入口 board, as well as a trustee for the local JATC, and as a board member on the labor negotiating committee.

In addition to his service to local 麻豆入口, Sal serves on several other local construction-oriented organizations, including the board of directors of the ACE Leadership Foundation and the New Mexico Construction Industries Division Energy Code Committee.

Sal also serves as a Commissioner at Large for Planning and Zoning in Rio Rancho, on the Board of Sandoval County Economic Alliance, and is a former President of the Italian American Association of Rio Rancho.

Sal prides himself as a reasoned, thoughtful leader, stating, 鈥淢y nature as a leader is to listen, process, and understand all the factual data and help make the right decision for the topic at hand鈥 I truly believe that if you ask any of the other members of any of the boards I served with over the years, they would consider me outspoken, but fair, analytical, and knowledgeable in all of the important issues that face our industry.鈥

The election of these four exceptional nominees will take place during the Annual Business Meeting at the 2025 麻豆入口 Annual Convention, October 26鈥29, in Maui, Hawaii. Their leadership promises continued growth, innovation, and success for 麻豆入口 and its members.
