September is Suicide Prevention Month, learn more about what you can do to help reduce suicide within the construction workplace.

September is Suicide Prevention Month. Construction workers are 5 times more likely to die by suicide than from a job-site accident, which is one of the highest rates of any occupation. Suicide is a real and urgent safety risk.

Making suicide prevention part of your daily safety culture means:

  • Talking about mental health in safety meetings.
  • Posting resources like the 988 Lifeline and Crisis Text Line (Text HELLO to 741741).
  • Reminding each other: It鈥檚 okay not to be okay.
